Atmosphere-the menu tells the history of the building, this interior would be more interesting with a period or rustic decor. The first dining room was empty except for a private party in a corner, so everyone walks in and goes to the entrance of the 2nd room and stops there unsure if they will be greeted there. After a few minutes, looking in, they see the hostess station and walk to that. The hostess was either not there or sitting behind the station where no one can see her. None of the waitresses going back and forth directed people there. Unfortunately for us, we were at the table next to the hostess station and since there was no room around it, waiting customers got to check out what we were eating! When we arrived the hostess missing and the bartender got out from behind the bar and seated us (I also saw him direct other people and set up tables). It started to get a bit crowded so as people were waiting they had to set up tables in the front room.The menu choice was pretty basic, but the food was good quantity and well priced and good for the most part good (however bread in basket was stale).Our waitress was adequate, polite but not overly solicitous. we called to make a reservation and were told we didnt need to do so. when we arrived we were told we should have made... we called to make a reservation and were told we didnt need to do so. when we arrived we were told we should have made a reservation and there was 2 big parties so they sat us in the 'lobby' area--right in the line of customers coming and going. and, because of the 2 large parties, we were told that they ran out of silverware and we had to wait for them to find enough for our table. overall, the food was good but we probably wont visit this establishment again.
